Our Story
Real food. Real people. Real Southern flavor — served with heart right here in Chicago.
From Humble Roots to Chicago's Favorite Chicken
Church's Chicken was born from a simple belief: great chicken shouldn't be a luxury. Founded in the heart of the American South, our recipes were handed down through generations — each one a testament to bold seasoning, proper technique, and genuine care for the people we serve.
When we opened our Chicago location at 1755 W Jackson Blvd, we brought with us not just a menu, but a whole philosophy. Every piece is hand-marinated, pressure-fried to perfection, and served with the sides that complete the experience — honey butter biscuits, jalapeño peppers, and creamy coleslaw.
Over the years, Chicago has embraced us as its own. We've fed families after Sunday services, fueled late-night cravings, and catered everything from birthday parties to block parties. The community is our family, and every order is made to show it.
Mission, Vision & Purpose
Our Mission
To serve bold, authentic Southern-style chicken that brings joy and satisfaction to every plate — without compromise on quality, flavor, or value. We exist to make every meal a memorable moment.
Our Vision
To be Chicago's most beloved chicken restaurant — a place where every neighborhood resident feels at home, every visitor is welcomed, and every bite reinforces why Church's Chicken is truly legendary.
Our Purpose
Food is connection. We prepare every order knowing it brings people together — around a table, sharing a meal, creating memories. Our purpose is to be that reliable, delicious reason for families to gather.
Our Core Values
Freshness First
We receive fresh chicken daily and never rely on shortcuts. Every batch is prepared to order, ensuring the crispiest, juiciest results every single time.
Community Above All
We are part of the Jackson Boulevard neighborhood. We sponsor local events, support school programs, and invest in the community that has supported us for decades.
Uncompromising Quality
Our recipes have never changed because they didn't need to. Real ingredients, proper technique, and consistent execution — that's the Church's standard every day.
Genuine Hospitality
Southern hospitality isn't a marketing line for us — it's how we were raised. Every guest is greeted warmly, every order is handled with care, and every complaint is resolved with respect.
"We don't just cook chicken — we cook with intention, tradition, and a whole lot of love for the people we serve."— Marcus Williams, General Manager
